Stocks close lower on Euro fears, profit taking

Closing out the day… Stocks closed lower Monday as investors took profits after hitting recent high marks on Friday and the re-emergence of concerns about political issues in Spain and Italy.

Among the high-volume stocks today Apple (AAPL), Facebook (FB) and Google (GOOG) booked gains while Netflix (NFLX), Acme Packet (APKT) and Herbalife (HLF) all moved lower. The Chicago Board Options Exchange Volatility Index closed the day at 12.90 after opening at 13.37. The Put/Call Volume Ratio is at 0.91 while the Put/Call Open Interest ratio is at 0.90.
