Stocks move higher again as S&P 500 approaches record

Closing out the day… Stocks were higher again Thursday as the DOW extended its winning streak to 10 days. The S&P 500 closed just points away from its all-time high.

Among the high-volume stocks today Apple, (AAPL), Microsoft (MSFT) and JP Morgan (JPM) booked gains while Research in Motion (BBRY), Amazon (AMZN) and Merck (MRK) all moved lower. The Chicago Board Options Exchange Volatility Index closed the day at 11.37 after opening at 11.70. The Put/Call Volume Ratio is at 0.54 while the Put/Call Open Interest ratio is at 0.95.
