Stocks end little change despite ongoing events in Cyprus

Closing out the day… Stocks closed little changed Tuesday. Developments in Cyprus pushed the market lower from the open through early afternoon trading, but after the Cypriot parliment rejected the terms of a bailout that would include a tax on bank deposits, the European Central Bank said it would continue to support liquidity in the country within the existing rules, which lead to an afternoon recovery.

Among the high-volume stocks today Bank of America (BAC), Google (GOOG), and Walgreen (WAG) booked gains while Citigroup (C), Lululemon Athletica (LULU) and Halliburton (HAL) all moved lower. The Chicago Board Options Exchange Volatility Index closed the day at 14.39 after opening at 13.36. The Put/Call Volume Ratio is at 0.97 while the Put/Call Open Interest ratio is at 0.91.
