Stocks end week on winning note on Cyprus optimism

Closing out the day… Stocks closed higher Friday on optimism that a resolution to the financial problems in Cyprus is close. The major indices all booked gains of less than 1%, but that was not enough put the market in the green for the week.

Among the high-volume stocks today Apple (APPL), Nike (NKE) and Mondelez International (MDLZ) booked gains while Oracle (ORCL), Research in Motion (BBRY) and Tibco Software (TIBX) all moved lower. The Chicago Board Options Exchange Volatility Index closed the day at 13.57 after opening at 13.34. The Put/Call Volume Ratio is at 0.93 while the Put/Call Open Interest ratio is at 0.93.
