“Ask me for anything,” Napoleon Bonaparte once said to his generals, “but time.” We would all like time to consider every action, but the sad truth is that we live in the real world, where many opportunities arise only once and never come again. We must strike a balance, of course, between timidity and pensiveness on the one hand, and recklessness and impulsiveness on the other.
As it happens, things are happening pretty fast in the world today, and a number of situations are currently in flux. Several companies could be in highly enviable situations a few months from now. For each of these trades, I have attempted to be clear about the chances of success, and whether others have or have not already gotten wind of the idea. If others see the same opportunity, you are quite justified in feeling more confident about it than in cases where I am the only one. Of course, the more people who are aware of an opportunity, the higher the premium will be in the price of the stock.
Note: Better to miss a window than to act without thinking. These trade ideas are exactly that: trade ideas. Do your own research before investing.
