Markets wait for the Fed

U.S. stocks are climbing this morning as investors await the results of this week’s Federal Reserve meeting.  The S&P 500 is up  0.47% and the Dow has dropped 0.41%.  

Asian markets were mixed Tuesday as worldwide markets wait for  the U.S. Federal Reserve for interest rate direction. The Nikkei fell 0.38% while the Hang Seng rose 1.63%.

European markets are moving up this morning. The FTSE is up 0.53%, and the DAX is up 1.43%.

Energy futures are rising Tuesday. The price for West Texas Intermediate crude oil is $81.49 per barrel, up $0.46 and natural gas is up $0.02. Metals prices are mixed this morning. Gold is down $2.60 and platinum is up $5.90. The Dollar is down versus both the Euro and the Yen.

Regal Entertainment (RGC), The Madison Square Garden Company (MSG) and Autonation Inc. (AN), are rising, while Twitter (TWTR), Sanofi (SNY) and 1-800-Flowers.com (FLWS) are down. [InvestorsKeyhole, various news and data sources]
