Doha fails to produce oil production freeze

U.S. stocks are pointing down today as oil prices slip. The S&P 500 is down 0.33% and the Dow is down 0.27%.

Asian markets closed mostly lower Monday after Japan suffered a devastating weekend earthquake. The Shanghai was down 1.44% while the Nikkei was down 3.44%.

European markets are lower today as major oil producers failed to come to agree to a production cut. The FTSE is down 0.18%, while the DAX is down 0.08%.

Energy futures are mixed this morning. The price for West Texas Intermediate crude oil is down $1.47 to $38.89 per barrel, while natural gas is up $0.04 to $1.94. Metals prices are mixed. Gold is up $7.40 to $1,242.00 per ounce and platinum is down $3.30 to $986.60. The Dollar is down versus the Euro and up against the Yen.

Cvent, Inc.(CVT), Immunomedics Inc (IMMU), and Loxo Oncology, Inc.(LOXO) are early risers, while NRG Energy, Inc. (NRG), Bill Barrett Corp.(BBG) and Whiting Petroleum Corp. (WLL) are down. [InvestorsKeyhole, news and data sources]
