Market jumpy as Comey testifies

Stocks are all over the road this Thursday morning as former FBI Director James Comey testifies live before congress. The global price of oil fell overnight after US reserves were revealed to be higher than expected. The price of gasoline is falling as well. Alibaba (BABA) is up 10% after giving a spectacular growth forecast. As a result, Yahoo (YHOO) is up 7%, just for owing a large stake in Alibaba. Tesla (TSLA) hit $363 today, though it was trading at $302 just three weeks ago.

West Texas Intermediate crude is trading at $45.97. At present, the S&P 500 is down 0.07%, the DJIA is flat%, and the NASDAQ is up 0.03%.

The VIX is down 0.7% to 10.31 after closing on Wednesday at 10.39. The most heavily traded options this morning are for the Financial Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLF), with 15K June-30 24 calls on the board. The total put/call ratio as of 10:00 AM was 0.39 (493,932/191,202). The advancers/decliners ratio for the NYSE is 1,446/1,419 and for the NASDAQ, 1,612/1,120.
