CKE Restaurants Q2 EPS Falls, Posts Positive Same-Store Sales For Period Eight

(RTTNews) - Wednesday evening, CKE Restaurants Inc. (CKR) reported second quarter EPS of $0.15, down from $0.20 in the last year quarter. Income from continuing operations for the quarter was $0.18 per share, compared to $0.21 per share in the corresponding quarter in the previous year. Analysts expected EPS of $0.20. Consolidated revenues for the quarter were $363.09 million, compared to $364.40 million in the same quarter a year earlier. Analysts expected revenues of $363.59 million. The company's same-store sales increased 2.0% at Carl's Jr. and 2.9% at Hardee's company-operated restaurants. In a separate statement, CKE revealed its same store sales for the period eight of fiscal 2008. The company posted a blended same-store sales growth of 2.3% for period eight, compared to a 6.9% increase in the same period last year. Carl's Jr. same-store sales for the period was positive 1.2%, compared to an 8% growth recorded in the comparable period in 2007.
