(RTTNews) - Tuesday, Time Warner Inc.
(TWX) revealed that its majority-owned subsidiary AOL has launched a beta version of AOL MyMobile, an application that helps customers to access major AOL services through mobile devices. AOL also introduced enhancements to AOL Mobile Search, designed to enable BlackBerry device users to access the services. In addition, the company unveiled an extension of the AIM TXT shortcode service across all major carriers in the U.S.
AOL stated that now Windows Mobile users in the country can download AOL MyMobile, which provides personalized access to AOL's premium services. The innovative features of AOL MyMobile help users easily scroll through their favorite applications and content for access to key mobile services.
The new enhancements on AOL Mobile Search is designed to provide comprehensive and relevant search results by integrating content from the Web and mobile Web, as well as from Moviefone, MapQuest and AOL CityGuide.
Furthermore, users of BlackBerry can now install a new AOL Mobile Search icon to their device's Home Screen very conveniently. Also, users across all major networks in the U.S. can now access the new AIM TXT Service of AOL that delivers AIM instant messaging functionality through text messaging on cell phone.
Executive Vice President of AOL Kevin Conroy commented, 'As we work to expand our global audience and provide consumers with easy access to our products no matter where they are, we've significantly improved the performance of our core consumer mobile products, we're introducing new, more modular products, and we're very focused on the importance of our new open mobile initiative'.
TWX is currently trading at $14.43, up $0.41 or 2.92%, on 9.11 million shares.
