(RTTNews) - AT&T Inc. (T), a global provider of telecommunications services, on Tuesday introduced a new Text Accessibility Plan for iPhone targeting iPhone customers with hearing or speech disabilities. Under the plan these customers will be given the choice of unlimited text messaging, web browsing and easy access to e-mail for $40 a month. The company also announced a suit of new U-verse TV features for San Antonio customers. The Text Accessibility Plan allows customers who are deaf or have hearing or speech disabilities to literally tap, flick and pinch the innovative multi-touch screen for a completely new world of functionality. The San Antonio, Texas-based company said the plan is available to new and current iPhone users with qualifying disabilities through AT&T's National Center for Customers with Disabilities. In a separate communiqué, the company announced the launching of a suit of new U-verse TV features that further differentiate the service from cable, which is available to San Antonio customers at no extra cost. The new features include AT&T Online Photos from Flickr, which lets you simply and conveniently browse the photos you've uploaded to flickr.com and watch slide shows on your U-verse TV screen; AT&T U-bar, which brings customizable weather, stock, sports and traffic information to the U-verse TV screen, without interrupting the current program; YELLOWPAGES.COM TV, for fast and easy searches to find local businesses and other information via your TV screen; and AT&T Yahoo! Games, that let you play your favorite online games on the TV screen. T is trading up $0.19 or 0.50% at $38.49 on a volume of 5.93 million shares.
