(RTTNews) - California Pizza Kitchen Inc. (CPKI) reported first quarter earnings of $2.46 million or $0.09 per share, compared to $3.60 million or $0.12 per share in the same quarter of last year. Analysts polled by First Call/Thomson Financial expected the company to report earnings of $0.08 per share for the quarter. Total revenues for the quarter were $164.72 million, compared to $149.37 million in the prior year quarter. Twelve analysts had consensus revenue estimate of $164.83 million for the quarter. For fiscal 2008, the company now expects earnings to be in the range $0.59-$0.65 per share, including about $0.02 accretion related to the accelerated stock repurchase. Earlier, the company expected earnings per share to be in the range of $0.56-$0.62, including about $0.02 accretion related to the accelerated stock repurchase. Analysts expect the company to report earnings of $0.64 per share for fiscal 2008. The company now expects comparable restaurant sales of negative 1.0% to 0.0% for fiscal 2008.
