Darling International Q1 profit rises – Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Darling International Inc. (DAR) said that its first quarter net income increased to $21.5 million or $0.26 per share, from $9.6 million or $0.12 per share in the year ago quarter. For the first quarter of 2008, the Company reported net sales of $202.0 million, compared to $138.6 million for the first quarter of 2007. Analysts polled by First Call/Thomson Financial expected the company to report earnings of $0.21 per share on revenues of $183.77 million for the quarter.
