Washington Mutual appoints Stephen Frank board Chairman - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Washington Mutual (WM) on Monday revealed the appointment of independent director Stephen Frank as the company's Board Chairman. Frank has served on the company's Board of Directors since 1997, most recently as the company's Lead Independent Director. He is the retired chairman, president and chief executive officer of Southern California Edison. Meanwhile, Kerry Killinger would continue to lead the company as Chief Executive Officer and serve as a Director. The company appointed Orin Smith, retired Starbucks chief ex, to serve as Chairman of the Finance Committee. Thomas Leppert, Dallas Mayor and former chairman and chief executive officer of the Turner Corporation has been appointed to serve as Chairman of the Governance Committee. In addition, the company also appointed Regina Montoya as Chairman of the Corporate Relations committee. Further, the company also adopted a majority voting standard and made several changes to the composition and leadership of certain of its Board Committees.
